MobileMovieMaking Magazine has identified 15 finalists for its third annual Mobile Movie of the Year Award. The editors will announce their choice of the best film on January 15. You can help pick the People’s Choice Award—to be announced January 31— by saying something about the films that you like in the comments area (below).
The finalists come from 11 countries: Australia, Canada, El Salvador, France, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, UK, and US. Genres include animation, comedy, documentary, drama, horror, music video, news, public service announcement, and sci fi.
Most of the finalists run under five minutes. You can see them by clicking the links in the following list, which is in alphabetical order:

Maroon Jumper! Sweet, endearing and funny. An amazing feat of casting, direction and editing considering Philip Pugh (the creator) had to contact and film everyone from their homes whilst the cast were all in lockdown in their respective countries!
Shoot is Marvelous…successful dark comedy which has good tempo because of reasonable Adherence of edit from the music which is selected so innovative…the film present the complicated situation of iranian women against harassment without less Government support…its a self_reflexive Properties of cinema which may our world more protective against women harassment…of course the world which will be made by their potentials

Black Man Soul really hits home expressing the toll America’s racism takes. Bryan was able to take the artist’s words and make an impact visually with wonderful shots and excellent editing. Very relevant.

It gave me a great and much needed laugh! Very well put together and loved the acting!
London Falls Silent captures what probably will be a unique moment in time when London was placed under an initial and probably the most extreme lockdown conditions to be witnessed.
National and local media outlets did show a snapshot of the sudden and dramatic vacating of one of the world’s greatest and busiest capital cities, but not over the stretch of time that elapses in this film nor with the cinematic composition or careful and considered editing contained within this masterpiece.
The storytelling by utilising sound edits of the emerging news situation and then setting to a well chosen orchestral piece of music cannot stop a tear or feeling of being overwhelmed with emotion during a moment most of us will be lucky to survive, whilst remembering the far too many that we’ve lost.
I’m sure the filmmaker is honoured to be amongst good company in this competition. Good luck to all involved. Well done!

I think “Today I will Live” is the best one. Apart to be a mojo manifesto, where you can see at it best how mojo can be useful in difficult condition like working in Afghanistan, it’s an amazing view on the life of who tries, with a lot of problems, to keep the attention high on one of worst tragedy of these years. And all is made without hypocrisies or disturbing mannerism. Very good job.
