The 14th edition of the Mobile Film Festival celebrates Human Rights in partnership with YouTube Creators for Change, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for human rights and the European Union as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Following an international call for films—to make a one-minute film shot with a mobile phone about the theme “Stand Up for Human Rights”—the organizers received 715 films from 81 countries. You can see the 51 finalists by clicking the image below.
The finalists—each running for one minute—come from 19 countries. The human rights issues dealt with include freedom of the press, child marriage, the migration crisis, accessibility for the handicapped, the death penalty, and education. Among the many genres used are thriller, comedy, documentary, and science fiction.
Three Grand Prizes of 20,000 Euros will be awarded: France, International, and Europe.
The Festival will come to a close on Tuesday, December 4th during a big awards ceremony at the MK2 Bibliothèque Theater in Paris.
