Erez Sitzer’s “this is everything” takes us on a journey from spring to summer in just over a minute. The movie not only allows us to see nature in a new way, but also the passage of time. As he did regarding another of his movies—I love you too—Erez responded to a few questions about this movie…and more.

MMM: What equipment did you use?
Erez: I shot it with the iPhone 6 and used Final Cut Pro
MMM: How long did it take to make?
Erez: They say time waits for no one, but I had to wait on time—time for the wind to blow away the dandelion petals. Those petals go when they wanna go. How do i know? Sometimes a strong gust had no effect on the petals and sometimes the softest breeze blew them off. Luckily the dandelion ended up having two remaining petals, then a single petal. that took hours to happen. It was a gorgeous day, so I wasn’t upset with time for making me wait.
MMM: Can you say something about the figure walking into the distance?
Erez: While I was filming the tree tunnel up the hill, I suddenly needed to pee. Not many people go up the long back steps of that hill, but still, I went looking for a tree out of sight. When I got back, an old man had walked through my shot. As you can see I ended up including him. Yesterday`s lesson: never doubt that the need to pee is cosmically timed with serendipitous events!
MMM: In the production, did you have to solve any tricky problem?
Erez: The wind was what I wanted for the dandelion. It was not what i wanted for the tripod. The slightest shake can upset the film quality. How to solve the problem? I was sitting beside the Himeji castle moat, which is full of turtles. I enlisted their help. with their backs to the wind and their fronts holding the tripod down, the film ended up pretty stable. Yesterday`s lesson: don’t be afraid to stick out your neck and ask others for help!
MMM: Anything else you’d like to say to viewers?
Erez: Yes, yesterday`s lesson: almost any small event has the potential for being the focus of something lovely.
