“iPhone 6 Budapest” Celebrates B&W Cinematography

Guba Gergo’s haunting “iPhone 6 Budapest” has won the top cinematography award at this year’s iPhone Film Festival. The movie is said to be the first Hungarian video project shot entirely using the iPhone 6.

This  short movie feature a young photographer exploring Budapest. Through her eyes, we get to know the city, captured in glorious black and white images.

One commenter on Vimeo noted the irony that the story is shot using an iPhone while the protagonist carries a Canon. Perhaps the subtext is that the passion for seeing the world around us transcends the equipment we use. That said, the film demonstrates the cinematic capabilities of the smartphone.
