Join the Collaborative Travel Video Project

Group filmmaking is another way that the mobile moviemaking revolution transcends traditional filmmaking. The idea is simple: Independent moviemakers pool clips to create a single project. The latest example is Viewfinders’ travel video, which will consist of segments shot by travel videographers from around the world.

The producers seek “raw footage filmed on mobile devices of between 5 and 50 seconds, capturing the experience of being on the move by using only the traveling shot.”

The people behind this exciting project are Max Schelser (a mobile moviemaker whose works have been exhibited in festivals around the world); Gerda Cammaer (Associate Professor at the school of Image Arts of Ryerson University, Toronto); and Phillip Rubery (post graduate student at Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand).
