Claude LeLouch, the French filmmaker best known for “A Man and a Woman” has announced that he is working on a smartphone feature movie. As reported in Variety, “La Vertu de L’imponderable” will be shot this coming summer.
LeLouch, now 80, came up with the story after he was robbed of a valuable manuscript and other papers. The film’s title might be translated as “What’s Good about Things We Can’t Understand.” (French readers are invited to offer better translations.)
Other directors who have announced that they’ll be shooting smartphone features and TV documentaries include Steven Soderbergh and Laura Mulholland. Perhaps the best-known smartphone feature movie is Sean Baker’s “Tangerine.”
