Ernest Hemingway famously said: “The only kind of writing is rewriting.” In other words, what the writer does with the first draft material determines success. For the author, rewriting includes selecting what to keep and what to drop, moving text from one place to another, shortening passages, and adding details. In the world of moviemaking, the corresponding step is editing. A big difference is that editing video requires a separate tool, namely an editing app. There are now many such tools on the market. And now Adobe—whose Premiere Pro is widely used by professionals—will soon release “Project Rush,” a simpler editing app for the masses.
Philip Bromwell, noted RTE mojo reporter, had a sneak peek of “Project Rush” at this year’s MoJo Fest. His reaction: [It] promises to be a game changer for mojo production.”
According to a preview on MacRumors, “Project Rush” will be available later this year. But Adobe is now inviting people to sign up to test the beta version. In their words: “Be one of the first to try the all-new, all-in-one video app coming soon from Adobe. It makes editing and sharing online videos fast and easy. It works on all your devices. And it’s going to transform the way you create.” You can apply to do the beta testing here. The online application requires less than one minute.
