Like many places, Ireland has an affordable housing crisis. In response, an organization named Common Knowledge is teaching people how to construct tiny houses. The cofounder Harrison Gardner doesn’t claim that the DIY course will solve the entire problem. But for some people, building their own tiny houses is a way to achieve an affordable—if modest—dwelling. And there’s a big side benefit. As RTEnews reporter Joseph Okoh makes clear, mastering building skills gives the students a sense of accomplishment and hope.
