The main draw of any film fest is its slate of films. But often the venue is part of the attraction. Think Venice, Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, and Park City. So it’s no surprise that the drone commercial promoting the inaugural Boyne Valley International Film Festival showcases the fest’s location. The place—40 kilometers north of Dublin—is a World Heritage Site featuring scores of Neolithic memorials. The drone commercial doesn’t mention film. Yet the poetic narration about the river combined with stunning shots sets the scene for what promises to be a memorable event.
