Good ideas never die. Here’s proof. In 1816, physicist David Brewster invented the kaleidoscope. In the 1930s, Busby Berkeley gave new life to Brewster’s creation by choreographing kaleidoscopic dance routines for lavish Hollywood movies.
And nearly a century later, we have OK Go’s “I Won’t Let You Down” drone music video, featuring effects that probably would have astonished Brewster and Berkeley. The five-minute single-shot movie was co-directed by band-member Damian Kulash and Japanese filmmaker Kazuaki Seki. Two of the band members discuss the making of the video here.
The editors of MobileMovieMaking have chosen “I Won’t Let You Down” as the Mobile Movie of the Week.
