Radim Zbořil’s “Brno in Motion” captures the filmmaker’s hometown in the Czech Republic. The beautifully photographed piece won 2nd prize for cinematography at the 6th annual iPhone Film Festival. But the film goes beyond the travelogue category. Combining a few well-placed title cards with clips of the memorable faces of passers-by, Zbořil advances the art of giving advice in a video. His message: If we pay attention to the people around us and realize that “Everyone has a different story,” we’ll be more likely to treat one another with respect.
The film was shot entirely on an iPhone 6, handheld in slow motion (120 fps) using the native Apple camera app.
“Brno in Motion” was the 2nd prize winner in Global Competition of Cairo Mobile Film Festival 2016, and also was an official selection at the following festivals: International Mobile Film Festival 2016; Cinephone International Smartphone Film Festival 2016; Festival FiCMA Mexico, 2016; and SmartPhilm Festival 2017.
