Indianola, Washington

Submitted By: John Goheen

Description:

2016 marks the 100 birthday of the Indianola, Washington Dock. The dock was first built as part of what was known as the Mosquito Fleet ferry system until it was discontinued in the 1950s. Today it is the longest recreational dock in the State of Washington.

The dock serves as the center piece of the community. From across the waters of Puget Sound, Indianola offers spectacular vistas of Mt. Rainier and the Seattle skyline. It is a magical and unique place that many locals and first time visitors alike will refer to as a slice of heaven.
