French filmmaker Benjamin Lapierre usually creates films that fit into the comedy or fantasy genres. But in “Adventurier” (“Adventurer”), Lapierre produces double-biography connecting himself and Raf Cramatte. On the surface, the two men couldn’t be more different. Lapierre is a traditional creator who spends much of his time indoors writing, shooting, and editing iPhone movies. Cramattte is a traditional adventurer, at home in nature, where he hikes, cooks, and camps. Yet, in just four minutes, Lapierre demonstrates that the outdoorsman and the indoorsman—and everyone watching the film—are more alike than different. To reveal what joins us would be a spoiler. But if you need a hint, think about the title.
