Groundbreaking mobile journalist Philip Bromwell shot “Pipe Dreams” in 2015 using an iPhone 6+. By today’s standards that phone is ancient technology.  Nevertheless, Bromwell filled the 2-minute RTÉ News report about the making of Uilleann Pipes with more than a score of cinematic images. This classic mobile video demonstrates that the filmmaker is more important than the equipment.

Philip Bromwell was one of the first journalists to record the news using mobile phones. We’ve showcased a number of his features such as “The Refugee Baker,” “Orchids in Dublin City Center,” “Street Art Paints New Picture of Northern Ireland,” and “Objects of Love: a Holocaust Story.” Known for his use of closeups and natural lighting, Bromwell won MoJo Fest’s Best Report Award in 2018.
