The COVID pandemic has led indie moviemakers to create a vast number of movies. We’ve featured many of them here. Not surprising, most of them are dark. Occasionally, however, a filmmaker will tell a story that’s positive, even joyful. In that category is Cian McCormack’s “The Pandemic Postman.” Mobile journalist McCormack puts the spotlight on Joe Sheridan, a postman whose route is in the west of Ireland. During the lockdown, Sheridan’s mission has been to connect isolated people with the rest of the world. His words, plus McCormack’s cinematography and Michael Gleeson’s drone footage, make a memorably upbeat video.
The editors of MobileMovieMaking have chosen “The Pandemic Postman” as the Mobile Movie of the Week.
