When older children read to young children, both groups benefit.
In a video version of that traditional activity, the reader practices not only oral interpretation but also becomes more comfortable being on camera.f In addition to enjoying the text, the younger audience gets to observe an older student in a positive role model, one that everyone can aspire to.
The “plus” in this project is a research task. The reader is challenged to present a surprising bit of background information prior to the reading. Even the simplest fiction or nonfiction book offers the opportunity to make a discovery that’s worth sharing.
