The Australia-based SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3) will hold a special screening for the top 10 kid-made mobile movies submitted to this year’s competition. Entrants, who can live anywhere in the world, must be 16 years or younger. The prize for best film includes a week long filmmaking workshop at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art), apps, mics and more.
Films must be shot entirely on a smartphone or tablet, and must have a run-time of 6.5 minutes or less. Entry fee is $15 (AUD). Submission deadline is August 1, 2018. Gala showing is September 7, 2018.
Winner of the 2017 Kids Flick Pick award was Callum Pritchard (age 14) for his 4.5 minute drama “Behind Closed Doors.”
