Music videos are often complex affairs. We’re used to seeing stroboscopic effects, drone footage, slow motion, and large casts. In “Spaceship,” director Eddie Cibrian takes the opposite, minimalist approach. This music video is about just three things: the performance of singer LeAnn Rimes; the song which is addressed to God, and the haunting desert location. Shot with an iPhone 13 Pro, the production is a model of simplicity. There’s no artificial lighting, no costume changes, no tricky camera moves. The result is a memorable one-woman show.
The editors of MobileMovieMaking have chosen “Spaceship” as the Mobile Movie of the Week.
