One of the great things about smartphone moviemaking is that your camera is always with you. Which brings up one of the worst things about smartphone moviemaking: there are lots of opportunities for losing your camera. This happened with a woman named Alyssa, who dropped her iPhone X into a river. The phone contained priceless photos that Alyssa had not backed up. The good news is that the phone was retrieved by diver/treasure hunter Dallas. The better news is that although the device had been in the water for two weeks–without a protective case–it still worked! But given the odds against this happy ending, the lesson is that you should back up your smartphone regularly.
